<p>Barclay Mowlem has won a contract to work on BHP Billiton’s US$575m iron ore expansion in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.</p> <p>The company will help expand one of the railways as part of BHP Billiton’s Rapid Growth Project 2 (RPG2).</p> <p>The project will expand capacity from 110m tonnes a year to 118m tonnes a year by mid 2006.</p> <p>Barclay Mowlem said its works would include an extension of track from Bing Siding to Nelson Point yard and track modifications at Goldsworthy Junction, Nelson Point yard arrival area and Finucane Island.</p> <p>This includes construction of 26 km of ballasted track, 37 turnouts and catch points. </p> <br />
