Engineering consultancy group SCG has come back from the recent AusRAIL PLUS 2023 conference impressed at the dynamic platform which brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and visionaries to explore the challenges and opportunities that face the railway sector today.
SCG Business Development Manager Renee Swadling said attending this event was an integral part of the company’s commitment to continuous innovation.
“Networking proved to be a highlight for us. We all thoroughly enjoyed engaging with our peers, forging new connections, and reconnecting with familiar faces,” she said.
“The exhibition hall was abuzz with energy and excitement – there was enthusiastic conversation everywhere I looked. With such a vast display of rail industry exhibits, we needed the full three days to make our way around the hall and have the time for meaningful discussions.
“The opportunity to meet up with industry colleagues and make new connections was invaluable. Reconnecting with people I hadn’t seen in years was a highlight.”
Swadling said the diverse range of participants, including passenger and freight rail operators, rolling stock manufacturers, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and government representatives, provided a multi-faceted perspective that enhances understanding of the industry’s complexities.
“The exhibition areas were a treasure trove of innovation, featuring the latest advancements in technology, sustainability, and infrastructure,” she said.
“SCG embraced the opportunity to explore cutting-edge solutions, connect with exhibitors, and gain first-hand exposure to the tools and technologies that are shaping the future of rail.
“My engineering colleagues were intrigued and energised by many of the exciting new technologies on display.
“The ARA put on an event of the highest quality. It’s the premier rail industry event of the year and I can whole-heartedly say that it’s well worth attending. I’m already looking forward to the next AusRAIL.”
