Equipment and services leader Coates made its first appearance at AusRAIL PLUS to shed light on the company’s recent entry into rail maintenance.

The stand featured Coates’ new rail-specific equipment while displaying its capabilities in the industrial solutions space.

Industrial solutions specialist Jihad Salem said Coates had moved into the rail tooling and equipment segment to complement all the other products that the company was renowned for, which included lighting, power, site accommodation, general tools and equipment, and lifting and materials handling.

“We’ve moved a load of equipment into our Ingleburn hub in NSW and just recently we’ve expanded into Newcastle,” he said.

“Coates has a range of specialised rail tools and equipment, along with mobile tool trailers and ancillary equipment, to keep planned works on track.

“With Australia’s largest fleet, we are equipped to deliver all the tools needed for rail maintenance projects, including rail saws, grinders, wood boring drills, tie tampers/breakers, possession limit boards, rail rollers, hydraulic track jacks, weld shears and link trolleys.

“Customers know our reputation: that we are a one-stop shop for everything, drawing on decades of experience in extensive product knowledge and a dep understanding of critical maintenance activities.

“We are a trusted supplier and work with most major construction and maintenance companies, so we already are likely to have a commercial agreement with most businesses.”

Salem said response at AusRAIL PLUS had been very positive, with many visitors welcoming another player in the market.

“We’ve had a lot of people come in, not fully aware that we’re doing rail, and now that they’re aware of it, our team of sales people will be in touch with their delegates and expanding on our further offerings.”

Also at the AusRAIL exhibit was new Coates industrial solutions general manager Kamaile Knight, charged with steering the company in its rail maintenance offering.

“From my rail experience servicing mining customers, I can see how Coates can leverage fleet and service expertise to benefit industrial customers and the rail industry,” she said.
