For more than 36 years, Ballarat-based specialist engineering business Harrybilt Engineering has been providing solutions to local and national customers.
The regional manufacturer has continued to grow and now services the rail and utilities sector, along with general engineering projects.
The team has always been blessed with skilled engineers capable of designing equipment custom-made for various track challenges, and Harrybilt marketing manager Beth Martino was at Ausrail 2022 to help display some of the company’s ingenious devices.
“Since 2000, we have had an in-house mechanical engineer and have hired employees with engineering experience. Over the years, the team has developed an extensive range of skills in manufacturing in the rail industry,” she said.
Drawing interest at the stand was the mini-Bullant, a smaller version of Harrybilt’s popular Bullant, a general-purpose grab which can be used for moving or side insertion of steel, wood or concrete sleepers. It includes rubber pads which can be removed if necessary to suit individual user requirements and applications.
The mini is made to suit light rail excavator ranges, with the jaw opening to 498mm, and closing to 123mm.
The compact design measures 675mm (w) x 370mm (l) x 1019MM (h) and weighs less than half of its bigger cousin.
Another “mini” on show was the pole grab, an attachment that suits 7-12 tonne excavators and backhoe loaders and has been designed to safely and efficiently pick up, lift and handle round loads or beams.
