<p>Auckland Regional Council is looking for a rolling stock consultant to help it purchase 25 diesel-powered units for its new passenger service.</p> <p>The council has taken over operation of Auckland’s commuter services from Tranz Rail.</p> <p>It has 19 diesel multiple units for its passenger services, but nine of these need replacing.</p> <p>The council wants to buy about 25 diesel vehicles to run more and better passenger services.</p> <p>Expressions of interest in the one-year consultant contract, which will have an option to extend, close on May 13.</p> <br />
