<p>The Australian Transport Council (ATC) will develop a national view of investment priorities across the transport system, federal transport minister John Anderson said.</p> <p>Mr Anderson said transport ministers at the transport council meeting in Melbourne on Friday (May 24) agreed there was an urgent need for a shared long-term approach to planning and funding.</p> <p>Details for a national transport plan will be set out in the AusLink white paper to be released "later this year", Mr Anderson said.</p> <p>"AusLink will be expanded over the next few years to build in the transport infrastructure plans of state, territory and local governments," he said.</p> <p>The white paper will show "how the Commonwealth has listened to the views put to us by the states and territories", Mr Anderson said. </p> <br />
