<p>The Australian Rail Track Corporation has presented the NSW Government with its plan for the lease and operation of the state’s freight lines.</p> <p>Under the plan, ARTC would take over management of the interstate rail freight network in country NSW, including the profitable Hunter Valley corridor. </p> <p>It excludes the Sydney metropolitan region and the lines between Sydney and Newcastle.</p> <p>The proposal will be assessed by the Office of the Co-ordinator General of Rail and NSW Treasury, with input from the trade unions. </p> <p>An employee consultative committee will be established to ensure the free flow of information to the workforce.</p> <br />
