<p>April volumes for the Australian Railroad Group (ARG) have dropped following a decrease in this year’s grain traffic, according to figures released by ARG co-owner Genesee & Wyoming Incorporated (GWI).</p> <p>Grain carloads for the month dropped 6,356 to 16,031 carloads compared with April 2004, when the company was hauling a record harvest.</p> <p>The drop was partially offset by an increase in bauxite traffic up 2,131 to 11,986 carloads, GWI said.</p> <p>Iron ore traffic remained steady at 18,968 carloads, an increase of 663 carloads. </p> <br />
