ARA welcomes logistics strategy

<p>The Australasian Railway Association (ARA) has congratulated the Federal Government on its support of the Logistics Industry Strategy.</p> <p>The strategy was released last week and it will be implemented by a council chaired by transport minister John Anderson.</p> <p>ARA executive director John Kirk said: "John Anderson’s chairing of the Logistics Council recognises the strategy’s importance and gives it support from the highest level of government."</p> <p>The organisation believes the strategy will improve transport efficiency, reduce transport costs and improve the industry’s environmental performance.</p> <p>"The government’s commitment to the strategy will ensure that the logistics industry is equipped to cope with the nation’s growing transport task," Mr Kirk said.</p> <br />
