<p>The Alice-Darwin railway will offer some business opportunities for road freight, the Northern Territory government says.</p> <p>A spokesman for chief minister Clare Martin told <em>Rail Express</em> the government had recently met trucking industry representatives in Katherine to discuss how their business could be diversified to take advantage of the opportunities.</p> <p>One role would be bringing freight into stations along the line, he said.</p> <p>The government’s statements follow trucking industry concerns that the rail industry will receive unfair financial advantages to get freight onto rail. </p> <br />
