Adelaide services hit by COVID

The spread of COVID has affected scheduled train services in Adelaide.

Adelaide Metro is working closely with train operator Keolis Downer to minimise the number of services impacted, but pandemic control guidelines – such as SA Health isolation requirements – have resulted in unforeseen changes to scheduling.

All efforts to minimise passenger disruption are being undertaken, including avoiding service changes during peak times where possible.

Any change to services will be promoted as early as possible to give customers time to plan their journey. This will include updates on the Adelaide Metro website and social media, as well as at stations via information screens, public announcements and customer service officers.

Adelaide Metro is continuing regular discussions with all service providers across trains, trams and buses to monitor the impacts of COVID.

The 2022 summer holiday timetable, currently in place until January 30, gives service providers more roster flexibility should drivers test positive to COVID or be required to isolate. It also coincides with a significant but traditional 20 per cent drop in transport patronage this time of year. There has been a further reduction in passengers as more commuters opt to work from home.
