Adelaide Metro has announced that the full tram network will be closed on January 17, 23 and 24.
This is to facilitate works as part of the Tram Grade Separation Projects, which involve removing three tram level crossings and building new overpasses at Plympton and Morphettville, as well as rebuilding the tram overpass at Glandore.
No trams will run at any time during these closures, with substitute buses replacing all trams between the Glenelg to Entertainment Centre tram stops and the Botanic Gardens to Entertainment Centre tram stops.
The tram line is currently closed between South Terrace, Adelaide and Moseley Square, Glenelg until late January, with substitute buses running.
Tram services will continue to operate as normal between South Terrace and Royal Adelaide Hospital, and between Botanic Gardens and Entertainment Centre.
Test trams will operate between South Terrace and Glenelg, and local residents have been asked to stay clear of the tracks and remain alert near the corridor.
Adelaide Metro said the upgrades being completed as part of the Tram Grade Separation Projects will deliver “significant benefits for commuters and the wider community”.
“We thank you for your patience while these important works are carried out, ensuring a safer and more efficient tram network for the future.”
