<p>Freightlink is investigating two accidents on the Adelaide to Darwin rail line last week that ended a two-month stretch with no service delays. </p> <p>One locomotive derailed and two train drivers were injured when Freightlink’s train crashed into the back half of a road train south of Darwin.</p> <p>Police and WorkSafe are investigating the incident, which occurred near the Elizabeth River Bridge and delayed the next train from Katherine.</p> <p>The truck driver, who was not injured, said he saw the train coming but could not accelerate in time to avoid the second trailer being struck.</p> <p>The accident follows a collision with a herd of camels just south of the South Australian border on Wednesday.</p> <p>A freight train struck four camels from a herd of 10 when the camels refused to move from the tracks, despite the repeated sounding of the horn and flashing of its lights.</p> <p>Freightlink was unavailable for comment at press time but said it was preparing a statement about the derailment.</p> <br />
