<p>An EDI Rail-Bombardier Transportation joint venture has signed a $437m contract with the Western Australian Government to build and maintain 93 rail cars and establish a depot at Nowergup.</p> <p>The railcars will service the South West Metropolitan Railway, which is being constructed to link Perth and its southwestern suburbs.</p> <p>Under the contract, $172m will be spent within Western Australia, generating around 1,000 direct and indirect jobs over 15 years.</p> <br />
