<p>The Victorian Government has called Liberal Party opposition to a $42m public transport extension a "disgrace and betrayal".</p> <p>In the recent state Budget, money was allocated to extend the No. 75 tram from Burwood to Vermont South in the eastern suburbs. Eventually the line is expected to reach Knox City.</p> <p>Transport minister Peter Batchelor believes the Liberal Party plans to oppose the plan.</p> <p>"After failing for seven years to allocate money to the Scoresby Freeway or the Knox tram extension, now the Liberal Party is opposing a $42m project to improve public transport for the people of the eastern suburbs," he said.</p> <br />
