- The New South Government has announced a long term plan to increase the capacity of Sydney’s rail network by 60% that will see, most notably, the introduction of single deck, rapid transit trains on the North West Rail Link (NWRL) and a new second heavy rail crossing under Sydney Harbour and the CBD. The plan has drawn a mixed response from government and industry circles.
