The NSW Coalition Government has allocated $13.2 billion to public transport and roads in its 2012/13 Budget with, it says, a major focus on building new transport infrastructure where it is needed most including funding for the NW and SW Rail Links.

Qube will expand its regional rail presence through the acquisition of Macarthur Intermodal Shipping Terminal Pty Ltd, which includes the rail operations, locomotives and rolling stock of Independent Railway of Australia which is active in providing rural and feeder intermodal services to the New South Wales market.
