Rail specialist recruiter, OnlineRail in Victoria has launched a new initiative to bring together women who represent the rail industry in Victoria. |
Online Rail's Helen Stephens
Established in cooperation with MW Engineers and Prime Health Group, the Women in Rail Networking and Social Group and Facebook page aims to give women working in the male dominated rail industry the opportunity to socialise and support each other, OnlineRail’s national operations consultant and coordinator of the event, Helen Stephens said.
“This is a great opportunity for all women involved in the rail industry to catch up once a quarter in an informal, social environment to discuss the various aspects of the industry from a female perspective,” Stephens said.
“Rail is definitely a male dominated industry and the creation of the Women in Rail Networking Group provides an opportunity for women to support one another.”
“Women will have the opportunity to discuss topics and areas they feel they need to concentrate on to succeed and progress further as a woman in the rail industry.”
In addition to the networking group, OnlineRail have created a Facebook fan page to promote and support women in the industry. As well as promoting the networking group, the page aims to provide a space for women in rail to discuss issues they are passionate about.
The first OnlineRail Women’s Networking Group will be held on October 23rd from 5pm onwards at the Atomic Bar &Caf, 185 Nelson Place, Williamstown, Victoria.
