Patrick could better leverage its operational capability and create further efficiencies following the formation of Patrick Port Logistics, a merger of its Patrick Port Services and Patrick Portlink businesses, the new group's general manager, Patrick O'Donnell, said today (Thursday, May 15).
Mr O'Donnell said he anticipated Patrick Port Logistics would deliver a more effective container logistics service for importers and exporters, international forwarders and shipping line customers, utilising Patrick regional and metropolitan capabilities.
The Patrick Port Logistics business would provide;
• Container parks for the handling, storage, repairs and preparation of containers for export;
• Import and export container distribution services from wharf to warehouse;
• Depot facilities, including pack and unpack, AQIS services and cross-dock delivery to warehouse;
• Port rail services linking major regional export centres to the port;
• Rail land bridging services to the major ports; and
• National road transport businesses supporting major exports.
Patrick Port Logistics operates at 31 sites nationally, handles more than 1.8m teu annually, operates 60 dedicated port rail services a week in conjunction with Pacific National, and has more than 300 prime movers and 800 trailers.
